These are fond memories of previous editions of the Role Model Africa Corporate Dialogue from the various personalities who have grace the platform from the beginning of the project. Among other things, the platform has shaped the thinking of the many African youth who have been part of the live audience who have participated in the previous editions of the Corporate Dialogue, which was launched in September, 2015.
The Role Model Africa project was launched in September, 2015 and was created to offer opportunities for mentorship and guidance to the African youth, who are seeking to experience growth in their business and careers. The projects has focused on themes that educate the African into becoming a ‘new’ and better person. In the past year, for every quarter there is a Corporate Dialogue as part of the mentoring project of Role Model Africa. The Role Model Africa Corporate Dialogue is a key feature of the project, the event seats hundreds of youth who get the opportunity to interact mentors in different fields of work and other youth who are seeking growth in their various fields of endeavors. The session is modelled in a story-telling format, where a guest (Role Model) shares his experiences and life stories with the audience through dialogue with a host (moderator).
The Role Model Africa project has successfully held three (3) different editions which have all bordered on different aspects of life in every quarter. The Corporate Dialogue, in the previous editions has been overly subscribed, and has set into motion a change in the ideologies of young Africans. The fourth edition of the Role Model Africa Corporate Dialogue comes off on Sunday, 2nd October, 2016. This is part of the one year anniversary celebration of the project. The anniversary celebration is characterized by a chain of activities, all designed to further entrench the institution of mentorship in the African society. The theme for the anniversary celebrations is “Discovering the New African”; motivated by the desire to see a better and improved Ghana and Africa.
The grass is greener on the other side, they say, only because it has been consistently watered. For a year, Role Model Africa, which is organized by Invents together with PM Media, have consistently watered the audience who have participated in the “Corporate Dialogue” held every quarter.
The one year anniversary of Role Model Africa, marked by a series of corporate events designed to stimulate the minds of the youth through mentorship, which will span a period of one week. The week-long celebration with activities to mark the first anniversary, promises to be even more enriching and engage the general public, especially, the youth across all ages.
The theme for this first anniversary of the Role Model Africa project is “Discovering the New African”. This anniversary celebration will be marked by a number of activities over a week. The week-long celebration begins with an Executive Breakfast Mentoring Session on the 27th of September, followed by a career workshop dubbed, “Career Advantage” scheduled to take place on the University of Ghana campus. The Corporate Dialogue will be held on Sunday, the 2nd of October 2016 at the African Regent Hotel and then climaxed with an exciting evening with Role Models at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra.
The convener, Samuel Agyeman-Prempeh (Mentoring Activist and Co-Creator of Role Model Africa) shares that the program is opened to the general public and is set to attract key stakeholders from various parts of Africa. The event which starts at 2pm is expected to observe stated audience 30 minutes ahead of the program.
Role Model Africa is an initiative by INVENTS, a human capital development organization that focuses on raising young people as leaders and entrepreneurs and PM Media, an Events Management and Consultancy Company. Since October 2007, INVENTS has consistently used personal Leadership models and projects to reach out to a great number of young people through its Mentorship Hubs on various tertiary campuses. Among our programs and projects are: the She Magnate Project, Role Model Africa, and Ideas Pulpit.
